"NO LIVING BEING CAN BE FULLY HEALTHY UNLESS THE SOIL FROM WHICH THEIR FOOD AND WATER COME IS HEALTHY.” - Kara Kroeger

Personalized Nutrition Coaching, Agroecology Education, and Food Systems Consulting

I help eaters, farmers, ranchers, and supply chain participants transition from thinking in parts to thinking in whole systems.

My passion is to facilitate transformative shifts that aid my clients in:

  • Nourishing and healing their bodies.

  • Regenerating land and food systems.

  • Minimizing their environmental impact.

I have 25 years of combined practical experience in every aspect of the farm-to-table process, as well as in holistic and allopathic health care. At the age of 16, I was profoundly affected by my father’s early death from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was linked to his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. My father’s tragic passing:

  • Revealed the pitfalls we face when we treat symptoms instead of the whole person.

  • Taught me that the quality of life quickly diminishes when we focus solely on parts.

  • Introduced me to the healing power of regenerative agriculture, food, and herbs.

  • Instilled an awareness of the harm that environmental pollutants cause to our bodies.

  • Focused my attention on helping people integrate holistic practices in every facet of life from agricultural practices to nutrition to live healthfully.

I know I’m not the only one with this story. Many people have come to me seeking their unique path to feeling whole in their body, mind, and environment. I’m here to help you achieve that by teaching you to think holistically, so we can embody the interconnectedness of human, animal, and land health as one and live more healthful, balanced, and resilient lives!

My varied skills in Nutrition, Holistic Health, Agroecology Education, and Food Systems Consulting serve various clients from people like you to food hubs, educational organizations, farmers, ranchers, and food businesses. I'd love to learn more about your needs and see how we may work together to grow more regenerative food and healthcare systems.

"ARTICULATE AND ACTIONABLE INFO TO HELP GUIDE A HOLISTIC WELLNESS JOURNEY AND CELEBRATE THE POWER OF REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE." - PODCAST LISTENER

I watched Kara's presentation to the Manitoba Forage and Grassland Association, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I appreciate her approach, specifically her ability to contextualize the research she cites and bring the audience along into the myriad of factors that impact gut health and agriculture practices. It is increasingly hard to find both a holistic and academic approach.  She clearly understands how to connect the dots and name key obstacles while suggesting paths forward, all while acknowledging the complexities at play in the agricultural systems in which I work.

I came to Kara about 6 days post-surgery. I had dire gastrointestinal distress and pain that kept me up at night. Her consultation set me up with a map to recovery. She directed me on what foods to include and what to avoid, suggested supplements, and other holistic specialists. Within days, I started feeling better. Her confidence and her plan were empowering in a doubtful moment. She gave me tools to heal, but also belief that healing and health would come. I highly recommend Kara as an invaluable holistic health coach at any stage of your health continuum!

HERE'S WHAT MY CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

IMG_4442.jpeg

as within, so without

THERE ARE NO PASSENGERS ON SPACESHIP EARTH. WE ARE ALL CREW" —MARSHALL MCLUHAN

An environment is the total sum of living and nonliving elements in a given area, including its physical characteristics and interactions. It comprises various things, conditions, or influences, such as ecology, weather, cultures, businesses, social dynamics, and finance. For instance, a park serves as an environment that includes trees, grass, concession stands, benches, recreational activities, park management, wildlife, and the people and pets that interact within it.

We encounter hundreds of daily decisions about how to best care for our internal and external environments. The phrase “As Within, So Without” is regarded as a universal truth or law that illustrates how the outside world reflects our inner world. How we treat ourselves internally often manifests in our external lives and frequently extends far beyond our awareness. This includes:

  • What we choose to feed ourselves.

  • The choices we make to create energy in the body (exercise or coffee).

  • The type of products we buy to make our daily lives comfortable and convenient.

  • How we manage our feelings, emotions, and beliefs.

  • How we treat ourselves and others.

  • How we tune into and use nature's rhythmic cycles and balancing mechanisms.

  • How we care for environments that supply our food, water, and air.

  • How we advocate for the welfare of all living beings.

For these reasons, it is important for us to raise our awareness of this universal truth and how it applies to our lives. Doing all we can to simplify and live intentionally in these areas improves our internal and external environments. As the world becomes more chaotic due to climate change and political turmoil, our ability to nurture and care for ourselves enhances our capacity to show up for ourselves and others. By taking care of ourselves, we also care for the world around us.

DO UNTO THOSE DOWNSTREAM AS YOU WOULD HAVE THOSE UPSTREAM DO UNTO YOU." - WENDELL BERRY
